Lauryn on the Comeback!!

Why thoughts of Jackie Washington are running through my head I have no clue but on to today's post...

So Sony records spoke with MTV News and has stated that

But, as her reps optimistically pointed out to MTV News, Hill has recently gone
back into the studio with the goal of making a new LP. In all seriousness, they
say. She theoretically has a library of unreleased material in the vault, since
she has consistently recorded over the past decade (we just haven't heard
anything yet). But the hip-hop star's camp says Hill has cooked up a batch of
fresh new material and there will probably be some collaborations once the
project is finally released.
No one can deny the masterpiece that was The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill. Released in August of 1998, this cd garnered 11 Grammy nominations and walked away with 5 of the golden statues. I bought not only one but two copies of this cd... one for the house and one for the car. Miseducation was on constant rotation in my cd player for over a year and remains one of the few cds that I can listen to the entire way through.

In 2001, Lauryn and MTV released MTV Unplugged No. 2.0. While the cd's material was amazing her raspy, soar throat voice killed the album for me. But regardless of my and other's critical reception of the album, the cd still went platinum. Pretty amazing seeing it got relatively no airplay.

So what does Lauryn have in store for us this time around? More phenomenal callbos? Mary J., Santana, John Legend, Maxwell were all featured on her first solo album. Regardless of what she gives... there are thousands if not millions of us waiting to hear.

I still have the Miseducation...on my CD rotation and listen to it often. She is a true artist - vocally and lyrically. Always a fan...

Lauryn is definitely someone I'm anxious to hear from. I like the single that leaked out "lose myself", but I'm not sure if that's on the album or not. There are a lot of new artist out here, so hopefully she doesn't rest on Being Lauryn. Chrisette is my help right now

Lauryn is brilliant. I was one of the few who loved Miseducation AND Unplugged. I appreciate that she, amidst all sorts of criticism, remained true to whomever she is when she records.

I can't wait!

Loose Myself is off the soundtrack of the animated film Surfs Up... it is not a leaked track.

I refuse to accept another heartbreak. I will not get my hopes up until I have the CD in my hands. I have ached for a new Lauryn CD for years...

I think i am a little turned onby the prospect of a new L-boogie cd. Music does that to me in general but she was always spectacular to me. I loved her voice, her lyrics, her rhymes, her style...i grew dreadlocks because i loved hers...I was so beat over her...just swore i would find her and marry her one day...or at the very least sing a song with her. hopefully it will still happen. *sighs dreamily*

L, please don't dissappoint me.

I love her. In fact, I saw her and Outkast back in college when the MOLH first came out. But, I think her career's a wrap. Can't do a decent show, acting all crazy, delay after delay ... she needs to get her shit together. Ever since she's been fucking with those Marley folks she hasn't been right. I'd LOVE for her to come back strong though. But I'm not even holding my breathe. We've been promised an album for like the last four years. I think if she changed her surroundings things would get better for her.
